Mommy, Lily has poop everywhere!!

That's what Riley yells up to me while I am doing my hair after my shower this morning. SO I am thinking the worst- literally everywhere. So I come down and see her in her playpen....sitting there with poop all over her hands, her shirt, her socks, her legs, and a little on her face. Not all that much on the actual playpen. SO I take her upstairs and get her in the tub and cleaned up....then someone is knocking on the door. I tell Riley go ahead and answer it, it's just the mailman with a package. He refuses to open the darn door. So I rush to throw on pants, not even having time to zip them, wrap Lily in a towel, answer the door (with half my hair pinned up from drying it). He hands me a couple packages and I just toss them on the floor, as I have no hands to hold them, lol. Once Lily was dressed she stayed in her crib across from the bathroom until I finished my hair and got the playpen clean. Ugh what a day!

The Last Visit for a While.....

James was here for a week to spend time with us before he went out to California. It was a great week and the kids really enjoyed spending time with daddy. It was nice that we got to spend a little time alone also. James left for California this past Tuesday and will be there til the end of August/beginning of September. He SHOULD get 2 weeks of leave to come home and visit right before he deploys overseas.

Getting over the sickness!

Well, the sickness that has plagued our house for 2 weeks finally seems to be getting out of here! Finally! And we were finally able to get out of the house today! We went out to get Riley a much needed haircut, then stopped by my mom's work to visit her and went out to lunch at 'The Pancake Place', as Riley calls it, lol. James is still in New York. He was hoping to come home next week, but that isn't going to happen since the main man at his work denied his leave saying that 'It isn't a good time'. There isn't going to be a 'good time' before they deploy since they are so busy at work, but that is besides the point. His car is in the process of being gutted, lol. They have the engine out and are just waiting for the new engine to arrive to put it in. Once that happens and James can get back here I will finally have a car again!

Christmas has come and gone...

Well, it is officially the new year now. James went back to New York after being here for 2 weeks. Riley misses him- he will randomly tell me he misses daddy. He is doing ok though. Lily this evening pulled back the shower curtain saying Hi Daddy! Very cute! I guess she was looking for him, lol. We all had a good Christmas. For New Year's Eve we didn't do a whole lot. Jen and I sat around playing games til after midnight then called it a night, lol.

Five years already

Well, it has been five years since dad committed suicide today. I have been down, and it hasn't been just that (although I am still not sure what else it is). Maybe it is just that it has been so dreary here for so long. It is pouring down rain outside (in December?!?!?) and is expected to turn to ice this afternoon/evening. I am still mad at dad that he did this. I know that he was pretty down with everything but I never expected him to do this. When my sister called me and told me he was dead and I asked how, she said well, I am sure you can guess- I said heart attack? Well, I just found out last week why I had no idea. Turns out he had called Jen one night saying that he had a gun to his head- and I only found out last week by accident. I was living in Kansas City at the time and I don't know why no one called me about it. If i had known that I would have called him more, or something. I don't know.
