Well, my sister Jen and I have been looking at a house to rent. The people that own it really want it to sell but the market is just so slow right now. They are discussing whether they would want to rent it to us or not. It is a two story house, 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a basement and a two car garage. It has a decent sized yard and is in a great neighborhood. I am really hoping that they will let us rent it- it would be such a burden lifted to know that we will have somewhere to go to as soon as we get to Indiana. It is very close to the school Jen teaches at so if she wanted she could just walk to school. The only draw back of it is that it's further from my mom's house than I like. I can take the bypass and be at her house in 20-30 minutes so it's still not bad though. I am really hoping that we can do this and hopefully it won't be too much for the rent and utilities! We estimated how much utilities would run once we split it in half, and if she charges us the full mortgage monthly payment, it would be about $550 a month for the rent, plus about $260 for the utilities. Which is doable- I can pay $1000 a month for rent and utilities. And it would be so much better than a dinky apartment! The kids can continue having their own room and there will be plenty of space! We should find out this week hopefully!
